The Dyller Law Firm was founded by Attorney Barry Dyller in 1992.
Attorney Solomon joined the Dyller Law Firm after his graduation from law school in 2014. Later, in 2021, Attorneys Dyller and Solomon became partners and formed Dyller & Solomon, LLC. As when it was the Dyller Law Firm, Dyller & Solomon, LLC continues to specialize in the representation of individuals who have had their constitutional and/or federal statutory rights violated, as well as those who are accused by law enforcement of committing a crime. BARRY H. DYLLER
Barry H. Dyller has committed his career to protecting the civil rights of individuals who have fallen victim to government action. For decades, he has represented clients in matters involving excessive force; malicious prosecution; denial of medical care in prison; prison suicide; violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act; employment discrimination; and, sex discrimination and sexual assaults suffered by students. Attorney Dyller has tried in excess of 100 jury trials, and has represented thousands of clients in both civil and criminal matters.
In 1992, Attorney Dyller founded the Dyller Law Firm (which became Dyller & Solomon, LLC) and has built a reputation as a leader in civil rights law. Attorney Dyller has earned the respect of his peers in the legal community and regularly receives referrals from colleagues across the state for cases with civil rights components. His expertise in this area of law, as well as his reputation within the community, has allowed Attorney Dyller to grow his practice into a firm of multiple attorneys dedicated to protecting the civil rights of individuals. In 2021, Attorney Dyller joined with Theron J. Solomon to form Dyller & Solomon, LLC. Since that time, the firm has grown by adding multiple attorneys who have shown a commitment to civil rights law while demonstrating high standards of scholarship and practice.
Attorney Dyller is admitted to practice law in the state courts of Pennsylvania and New York, as well as in multiple federal district and appellate courts in both Pennsylvania and New York. Attorney Dyller is a member of the Executive Committee of the Civil Rights Section of the American Association for Justice (the largest trial lawyers association in the country), and previously served as its chairman. He regularly lectures to both lawyers and non-lawyers on a variety of legal topics. Attorney Dyller is and has been a director or board member of many community and law-related organizations, including the Luzerne County Diversity Commission, the North Branch Land Trust, the Greater Wyoming Valley Audubon Society, Temple Israel, and the Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association. He has received various awards and honors, including the Wilkes-Barre NAACP’s Diversity Leadership Award, its highest honor.
Attorney Dyller graduated from Boston University School of Law in 1985, where he was awarded the Paul J. Liacos Distinguished Scholar for graduating third in a class of 427 students, and Edward F. Hennessey Scholar awards. From 1985 to 1992, Attorney Dyller was a commercial litigator with a large New York based, international law firm, and a smaller New York City litigation boutique firm. Attorney Dyller moved to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1992, to marry his law school sweetheart, then attorney and now Judge Lesa Gelb. The couple continues to reside in the Wilkes-Barre area.

Theron J. Solomon
Attorney Solomon defends individuals accused of serious crimes in both state and federal courts in Pennsylvania. Typically, these cases include narcotics and/or firearms charges where the client is facing a substantial period of incarceration. Attorney Solomon routinely takes on these cases, vigorously defends his client and secures outcomes for his clients that other attorneys would not be able to replicate. Attorney Solomon has substantial courtroom experience, spending his time there on a near-daily basis. It is for this reason that Attorney Solomon is never afraid to take a case to trial – and win – which he has consistently done throughout his career. As a representative sampling of his courtroom victories, over the last several years, Attorney Solomon has secured not guilty verdicts in cases involving homicide, attempted homicide, attempted homicide of law enforcement officers, unlawful firearm possession, drug delivery, drug possession, aggravated assault, robbery, simple assault, resisting arrest, driving under the influence, and the list goes on and on. From the biggest case to the smallest case, Attorney Solomon prides himself on the countless hours he dedicates to fighting for your freedom.
In addition to his criminal defense practice, Attorney Solomon is also involved in the firm’s civil rights practice, including cases involving prison deaths, malicious prosecution, and excessive force. Whether at depositions, hearings, or trials, Attorney Solomon’s experience and ability in the courtroom is often a crucial factor in achieving favorable outcomes for the firm’s clients.
Currently, Attorney Solomon is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, and the Wilkes-Barre Law & Library Association. Attorney Solomon is admitted to practice in the state courts of Pennsylvania, as well as the United States District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania.
Attorney Solomon was born and raised in Luzerne County and graduated from King’s College in 2009. In 2013, he received his Juris Doctorate from the Charlotte School of Law in Charlotte, North Carolina. During law school, Attorney Solomon was a member of the Moot Court Honor Board and Trial Advocacy Honor Board. He competed successfully at a national level for both groups. Attorney Solomon was one of the first members of Charlotte Law to complete the Advanced Trial Advocacy Program and earned a special degree for his work in litigation.
Attorney Solomon’s love of the courtroom and passion for litigation became evident during his third year of law school. At that time, Attorney Solomon received a practice license from the North Carolina Bar Association and worked for the Union County District Attorney’s office as an Assistant District Attorney and for Victim’s Assistance in Charlotte handling domestic violence case work. Attorney Solomon points to this experience as the moment when he knew he wanted to spend his career as a lawyer litigating cases for those accused of crimes and representing individuals who had their civil rights violated.
CAELIE MCCORMICK SWEIGART
Caelie McCormick Sweigart
Caelie McCormick Sweigart focuses her practice on representing individuals who have had their constitutional and/or federal statutory rights violated by the government or certain other private actors. In this role, she routinely advocates on behalf of individuals who have been the victims of excessive force, malicious prosecution, or been denied medical care while in prison. Attorney Sweigart is a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, Northeastern Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, and the Wilkes-Barre Law & Library Association. She is admitted to practice in the state courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. During her years of practice, Attorney Sweigart has lectured on a variety of legal topics for state-wide and national organizations, including the National Business Institute, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Northeastern PA Trial Lawyers Association, and the Luzerne County Bar Association.
Attorney Sweigart graduated cum laude from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law in 2010 where she was named a member of the Woolsack Honor Society, which is comprised of the top ten percent of students in each graduating class. Following law school, Attorney Sweigart started her career at a regional Philadelphia law firm, eventually choosing to return to her hometown of Wilkes-Barre to practice law. She initially served as the sole appellate attorney for the Office of the Luzerne County Public Defender, eventually transitioning to a position as a full-time law clerk to a judge in the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas, Civil Division. During her years clerking, Attorney Sweigart developed a passion for plaintiff’s trial work and chose to re-enter private practice to focus on personal injury matters. While working for a local firm, Attorney Sweigart focused her practice on motor vehicle collisions, premises liability, and medical malpractice cases, winning many favorable results for her clients both in and out of the courtroom.

CHAD SWEIGART
Chad Jeffrey Sweigart’s practice is largely dedicated to representing individuals who have been deprived of their constitutional and/or federal statutory rights while incarcerated. Attorney Sweigart routinely represents the Estates of individuals who die while in prison as a result of the constitutionally deficient medical and mental health care provided to inmates when they are at the most vulnerable stages in their lives. While these cases constitute a significant portion of Attorney Sweigart’s practice, he also advocates on behalf of individuals who have been the victims of excessive force by law enforcement officials and/or maliciously prosecuted by police officers without probable cause. Attorney Sweigart is a member of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, and the Wilkes-Barre Law & Library Association, as well as a former member of the Federal Bar Association where he served as officer from 2018 to 2022. He is admitted to practice in the state courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Attorney Sweigart graduated cum laude from Franklin & Marshall College in 2006. After taking a short break from school to work in his family’s road construction and asphalt production business, Attorney Sweigart attended the Penn State Dickinson School of Law. In 2010, he graduated magna cum laude from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law and was named a member of the Woolsack Honor Society, which is comprised of the top ten percent of students in each graduating class.
Following law school, Attorney Sweigart started his career as a litigation associate in the Philadelphia office of a global law firm, before moving to his wife’s hometown of Wilkes-Barre to practice law. After moving to Wilkes-Barre, Attorney Sweigart gained invaluable experience serving two terms as a law clerk to the Honorable A. Richard Caputo of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Attorney Sweigart served as Judge Caputo’s term clerk from 2012 to 2015 and his career clerk from 2017 to 2020. During his years clerking, Attorney Sweigart gained substantial experience and understanding of the legal principles applicable in civil rights actions. In addition to clerking for Judge Caputo, Attorney Sweigart previously worked in the Wilkes-Barre office of a regional Pennsylvania firm doing defense work. These experiences allow Attorney Sweigart to provide his clients at Dyller & Solomon with a unique understanding of cases not only from the plaintiff’s side, but also from the defense’s viewpoint and the perspective of the court.
